Tom Spohrer is a Product Marketing Manager with Microchip Technology’s MCU16 Division where he is focused on the product definition and marketing of a family of dsPIC® digital signal controllers that are designed for power-conversion applications.

Before joining Microchip, Tom worked at Advanced Micro Devices managing an applications engineering team, and at Intrinsity, a venture-capital-funded startup company, as the Director of Marketing and Applications for an advanced digital signal processor targeted at software defined radio applications.

Tom started his career designing firmware and software for telecom systems at Sykes Datatronics, and later joined Motorola where he held various design and design management positions developing high-end microprocessors.

Tom has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from The Rochester Institute of Technology, and an MBA from St. Edward’s University. Tom is a patent holder, and is based at Microchip’s Chandler, Arizona headquarters.
